Select Survey

Select Survey is a program produced by ClassApps . It allows clients to create, deploy, and analyze results from web-based surveys through a web browser. Raw data can also be exported in comma separated files to be analyzed in other programs such as SPSS.

Web Services and the College of Education have worked to upgrade to an Enterprise version of this software. This means that all faculty, administrators, and staff at the University can use this software. Please contact the Web Services administrators to find out how to utilize the system

Here are some features and policies concerning the Select Survey:

• Web Services primarily serves the faculty, administration, and staff of the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business. Access by any other organization, department, or faculty must be approved by the Web Services administrators.
• Web Services does not support students. Students who wish to use Select Survey must work through a faculty sponsor who is trained to use the system.
• Before accessing the Select Survey system, faculty should work with the Statistical Consulting Center to design their research survey.
• The current system works with .NET and authenticates through the ISU AD system. This allows for both on-campus surveys authenticated with
  ulid and password, as well as both on and off-campus anonymous surveys. Any surveys that do not authenticate through the ISU system have to have prior approval, as well as developmental lead-time with the Web Services Administrators.
• All email requests that are sent out to participants must abide by the ISU Appropriate Use Policies on Mass Email (pdf) and be sent through ISU email services via CISS. Contact Web Services administrators for information on email and for an example format.
